Grape is really sour
FACT: While civil society representatives insist on bringing the Prime Minister and higher judiciary within the ambit of the proposed Lokpal Bill, they want non-government organisations (NGOs) kept out of its purview - or at least those which are not aided by government. This emerged at a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on on Wednesday evening, which had invited Team Anna to give their views on the Lokpal Bill, 2011.
Team Anna argued that NGOs should be kept out of the Bill’s purview. When objected by committee members, Team Anna revised their stance saying those NGOs which receive government aid could be brought under Lokpal’s purview. In what was construed as an attempt to exempt NGOs receiving money from private donors - both national and international - as also those within the country, Team Anna argued that if somebody gets some money from his friend and misuses it, there could be a civil suit for it. OWL WATCH: If this story is true, Anna’s movement against corruption is the frustration of a feeling that “grape is sour”. There are many NGOs in India which are continuously being aided by many foreign countries to destabilize our national integrity. Team Anna wants to exempt them from Lokpal bill. It is really funny joke from Anna Hazare’s team. Team Anna wanted exemption for the organisations of their “standard”. Corruption is deep routed in India.
